Nick's Place
About This Spot
Stepping into Nick’s Place is like slipping into a well-loved storybook of small-town Georgia dining—a place where the walls quietly whisper tales through their shelves of vintage radios, typewriters, and delicate hats from another era. The setting feels intimate and unhurried, a reminder that good food and quiet conversation don’t need to rush. The worn wood and charming nostalgia invite diners to settle in and soak up an atmosphere where history and hearty meals come together under one roof.
Nick’s Place unfolds at an easygoing pace, embracing a spirit of genuine hospitality that reflects the community it serves. Here, the clink of cutlery meets the hum of friendly chatter, and servers move thoughtfully among the tables, balancing attentiveness with the kind of casual warmth that makes you feel at home even if you’re passing through.
The menu invites you to savor the comforting classics of Southern-inspired fare—a hearty bacon cheeseburger piled just right, ribs with a sticky glaze, or a crispy chicken-fried steak that tastes as if it was made by a neighbor’s loving hand. There’s a sense of familiarity in every bite, whether it’s the robust Philly steak sandwich or the tender salmon that brings a lighter touch to the table. Portions come generous, made to satisfy appetites stirred by long days and great company.
Families and groups find a welcoming refuge here, with dishes that keep both kids and grown-ups content without fuss. The blend of nostalgic decor and genuine food makes Nick’s Place more than a meal stop—it’s a quiet celebration of community, where plates arrive with a side of stories and a sprinkle of local pride.
For those exploring Crawfordville’s cozy charm, Nick’s Place serves as a comfortable spot to rest, reconnect, and relish the simple joy of authentic, made-with-care cooking in a space that feels like a shared secret among neighbors.

I live in a nearby town and enjoy visiting local restaurants. I’ve heard about Nick’s Place and wanted to try it. I had the grilled salmon with mashed potatoes and green beans. The food was good, but was just warm making me think it was not served promptly. The service was slow but there was only one waitress. After my dinner was brought to the table the waitress never came back to check. I ran out of tea, but finished my meal without a refill. The prices are very reasonable. The restaurant is very nice and roomy. The building was originally a clothing store with built in shelves along the side walls. These shelves use old hats and records for decorations. I noticed that most of the reviews are very good so maybe I just came on an off night when someone didn’t come in. I will go again.

Enjoyed the meal & service fully! Philly was one of the best I have had! My husband had the fresh burger, and loved it! Worth every penny! Will definitely return when in the area.

This is what supporting local business is all about. Nicks place was delightful and a well needed, hearty refuel with an authentic, made-with-love atmosphere. The town is small, quaint, and truly a masterpiece of historic Georgia. We had a large party of students with 14 kids and 4 adults. Every meal came our perfectly and was enjoyed. Massive cheeseburgers, wings smothered in sauce, salmon salad cooked to perfection, club sandwiches, pasta... everyone was happy. I'll certainly be back when I head to Charleston or Augusta again soon.

Cute diner in a small town. Service was fast & very friendly. We ordered the special of Country Fried Steak with gravy, 2 sides & a drink. We ordered the white gravy. It was delicious. The steak was fried crispy & the gravy was nice & thick as white gravy should be. My sides were macaroni & cheese and butter beans. My husband got mashed potatoes & butter beans. I didn't care for the butter beans. They were a bit peppery & the consistency was like a refried bean. It was not what I expected. But my hubby liked them. We both drank sweet tea. The tea was good. Not too sweet. For dessert, we got chocolate cake & red velvet cake. Chocolate was wonderful. The r3d velvet was too dry. The meal price was amazing. $40 with the tip. We would eat here again if we come back to the area.

On our way back home from Charleston SC back home after vacation we were trying to find somewhere different from normal fast food. While it's kind of off the interstate just a little bit but not a bad detour at all. It was SOOOO worth it! Food was excellent & the small town in Georgia was worth the drive! We loved it.

Hands Down The Best Wings I've Ever Had! My family & I drove up to Crawfordville this weekend to fish & my husband found Nick's Place on Google. It's such a quite place in a quite city. Place was super clean & a very cute restaurant. Waiter was super sweet & answered every question we had. Food was DELICIOUS! I will be driving back just for the food. (It's 1.5 hours from me but that's how good the food was) We also got some sliced cakes to go. Very moist & delicious! I give this place a 10 star rating. If you're in the area or wanting to explore new restaurants I highly recommend.

The hamburger...I can't describe how good it was, you will just have to go try it! I always want my burger well done, and I immediately check it when it is brought to the table. When I removed the top bun, I could see where the chef had actually made a small cut into the center to make sure it was actually well done...now that is great customer service. The burger was cooked perfectly. People same in to pick up orders, and they were so friendly. Stop to talk to us. asked if we were just traveling through, how did we find Nicks's Place... that only happens is small towns
